The Legend

News clipping form 1912

It’s called “The Tracks of Terror”. Some say the railroad that ran between Nashville and Clarksville, Tennessee is haunted. Several travelers (otherwise known as “hobos”) were reported missing after routine stops to replenish coal and take on water along Sycamore Creek in Cheatham County.

The reports say that a couple of small children were luring the strangers off the train. The travelers never returned before the train left to continue on its journey.

Interviews with aging travelers revealed that they all agreed “something was not right.” One consistent thing reported in each of their stories, was they all thought they heard screams before the train left, but were unsure because of the train’s whistle.

A new investigation is being launched in Chapmansboro, Tennessee along the walking trail, formerly the path of the railroad, primarily on the backside of Owen Farm near the bluff overlooking Sycamore Creek. This is reportedly where the children appeared and the mystery began.
